Birth Doula Services
Please Note: Due to my full-time nurse-midwifery studies in graduate school, I am regretfully not accepting birth doula clients who are due in Spring 2012.
My next availability is late July through August 2012.
If you are in need of a birth doula sooner, please feel free to contact me for a referral list.
However, I continue to offer childbirth education classes, both privately and in a group setting.
AS YOUR BIRTH DOULA, I PROVIDE:
* A free initial consultation over the phone or in person
* 2-3 prenatal meetings to discuss birth options, work on a birth plan (if desired), and explore comfort measures
* Unlimited phone and email contact during pregnancy and up to 6 weeks postpartum
* Use of my lending library of books and DVDs on a multitude of pregnancy and parenting topics...infant massage, making your own baby food, infant potty training, organic pregnancy, prenatal yoga, baby sign language, etc.
* On-call time 24 hours/day leading up to your labor & delivery
* A guaranteed back-up birth doula to ensure fulfillment of our agreement of services
* My continuous presence at your labor & delivery until the baby is born, breastfeeding is established and personal care taken care of
* Breastfeeding support as needed postpartum up to 6 weeks
* 1-2 postpartum meetings to check in on mom, baby & family, answer questions and process feelings surrounding the birth
*A special "Doula Deal" photography package at a discounted rate with photographer Bryan Creely as an exclusive offer to my clients OR a 20% discount on regular photography packages. For more information, please ask me!
*A comprehensive background check, verification of a negative tuberculosis test (PPD skin test) within the past year and references from families with whom I have worked
ABOUT FEES FOR DOULA SERVICES
I strongly believe every laboring woman should have access to trained birth and postpartum support. As a result, I offer a payment plan option to families who are unable to pay for services in two payments. I also offer a sliding fee scale to low income families when possible and availability permits. Please do not hesitate to contact me to inquire!
Also, please note that some insurance providers do offer third party reimbursement for doula services. While the process can be tedious at times, I am willing to provide the appropriate invoices and statement letters as necessary.
